Indian farmer in a green field, PM Kisan status check guide

PM Kisan Status Check: How to See Instalment Status

Your PM Kisan status tells you whether your name is approved, whether your latest ₹2,000 instalment was sent, and what is blocking the money if it was not. You can check it free on the official PM-KISAN portal in about two minutes, using your registration number or your mobile number. This guide shows each step, explains every common status message, and lists the fixes that clear most delays.

It also lists the latest instalment dates, so you know whether a missing payment is a delay or simply not released yet. As of 21 October 2026, the 23rd instalment is the latest one paid, and the 24th has no official date.

Quick answer: To check PM Kisan status, open the official PM-KISAN portal, choose Farmers Corner, then Know Your Status. Enter your registration number and the captcha, then the OTP sent to your registered mobile. The page shows eKYC, land seeding, Aadhaar bank seeding and each instalment as paid or pending.

Key takeaways

  • The 23rd instalment of ₹2,000 was released on 20 June 2026 to more than 9.44 crore farmer families, a total above ₹18,880 crore.
  • The 24th instalment has no official date yet. Payments usually come about every four months, so late 2026 is the likely window, but that is an estimate and not an announcement.
  • Three things decide whether money arrives: eKYC, land record seeding and a bank account linked with Aadhaar.
  • Check status only on the official government portal or app. Never share your OTP, and never install a status “APK” sent on WhatsApp.

How to check PM Kisan status online, step by step

You need your registration number or the mobile number linked to your PM-KISAN record. If you do not know the registration number, the portal can look it up from your Aadhaar or mobile number.

  1. Open the official portal. Type the PM-KISAN website address in your browser yourself instead of tapping a link from a message.
  2. Go to Farmers Corner. Find the Farmers Corner section on the home page.
  3. Tap Know Your Status. The page asks for your registration number and a captcha.
  4. Enter the registration number and the captcha, then request the OTP.
  5. Enter the OTP that arrives on your registered mobile number.
  6. Read the result. It shows eKYC, land seeding, Aadhaar bank seeding and the status of each instalment.

PM Kisan status without a registration number

Use the “Know your registration number” option on the same page. Enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number and the OTP, and the portal returns your registration number. Do this only on the official site. Never type your Aadhaar into a page that came from a message, a social media post or a search ad.

Check the village beneficiary list

Under Farmers Corner, the Beneficiary List option lets you choose state, district, sub-district, block and village to see which names are on the list for that village. This helps when a neighbour got money and you did not.

What each PM Kisan status message means

The wording changes slightly over time, but these messages are the ones farmers see most often. The right-hand column tells you what to do next.

What you see What it usually means What to do
eKYC: Yes, Land seeding: Yes, Aadhaar bank seeding: Yes Your record is complete and eligible Wait for the national release; payment follows within days
eKYC: No OTP or biometric eKYC is pending Complete eKYC on the portal or at a Common Service Centre
Land seeding: No Your land record is not matched on the portal Contact the village patwari or revenue office to update the record
Aadhaar bank seeding: No The bank account is not linked with Aadhaar for DBT Ask your bank to seed Aadhaar; a post office account also works if it is DBT-enabled
Waiting for approval by state The state verification officer has not approved the record Contact the block agriculture office
Payment processed or credited Money was sent for that instalment Check your bank passbook or SMS alert

The portal can also show a message that a record is under verification when land was bought after 1 February 2019 or when more than one family member claims the benefit. In those cases payment can be held until the state completes its checks.

Why a PM Kisan instalment gets stuck

Most delays trace back to small data mismatches. The checklist below covers the causes that come up again and again.

  • Name mismatch. The name on the Aadhaar card differs from the name on the land record or the bank account.
  • Wrong bank details. A wrong IFSC code, a closed account or a dormant account rejects the transfer.
  • Aadhaar not seeded. A bank account that is not linked to Aadhaar for direct benefit transfer will fail.
  • Incomplete eKYC. The OTP-based or biometric step was never done.
  • Land record issues. Mutation is pending, or the land is not recorded in the applicant’s name.
  • Ineligible category. Some taxpayers, institutional landholders and higher-income categories are excluded under the scheme rules.

How to fix the problem

  1. Note which line in Know Your Status shows “No” or “Pending”.
  2. Fix that one item first. Complete eKYC, correct the bank details or update the land record.
  3. Recheck the status after a few days, because state officers need time to approve changes.
  4. If nothing changes in a few weeks, visit the block agriculture office with your Aadhaar card, bank passbook and land papers.
  5. You may also call the PM-KISAN helpline. At the time of writing the helpline numbers were 155261 and 011-24300606, but please confirm them on the official portal before calling.

Staying safe while you check status

Scams spread fast around every instalment date. Fake messages offer a “PM Kisan status APK” or ask you to pay a fee for faster approval. Treat all of them as fraud.

  • The official service is free. No one can speed up your payment for money.
  • Never share your OTP, bank PIN, card number or UPI PIN with anyone, including someone who says they are from the scheme.
  • Do not install apps sent through WhatsApp or SMS. Use only the official portal or the official government app.
  • The Harvest never asks for your Aadhaar, mobile number or bank details, and this site is not a PM-KISAN service.

PM Kisan status: when will the next instalment arrive?

The government has not announced a date for the 24th instalment. Because the last two releases were in March and June 2026, many news reports expect the next one around October or November. Treat that as an estimate. Instalments sometimes move because of state elections, programme events or data checks.

The best use of the waiting time is to make your record clean. Complete eKYC, confirm that your bank account is linked with Aadhaar, and check that the land record matches your name. Farmers whose records are complete usually receive the money on the first release date.

Your PM Kisan status checklist

Run through this list once a month. It takes five minutes and prevents most missed payments.

  1. Open Know Your Status on the official portal and read all four lines.
  2. Fix any “No” or “Pending” item straight away.
  3. Confirm that your registered mobile number is active, since the OTP goes there.
  4. Check your bank passbook after each national release date.
  5. Keep a copy of your registration number in a safe place.
