Editorial Policy

Our editorial policy explains how The Harvest chooses, researches, writes, checks and corrects its content.

Not a government website. The Harvest is an independent information publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Government of India, any state government, ministry, department or official scheme portal. We summarise publicly available official information for farmers.

Our standards

  • Primary sources first: we rely on official sources — Cabinet decisions and Press Information Bureau releases, CACP reports, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare portals and data.gov.in/Agmarknet open data.
  • Every figure is traceable: each article names its sources; numeric tables are checked against the official publication before publishing.
  • Plain language: we explain terms like MSP and modal price in simple Hindi and English.
  • No invented data: we do not publish sample, estimated or placeholder figures as if they were real.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help research and draft. Published figures and claims are verified against the sources named on the page, and the article is reviewed by our editorial team before publication.

Independence

Our coverage is independent. We are not affiliated with any government body or political party. If we ever carry sponsored or affiliate content, it will be clearly labelled.

Updates and corrections

We update articles when official figures change and fix errors promptly. See our corrections policy and data sources & methodology.
